Outside of the buff and debuff slots (which are talked about in other posts), there are a series of status effects that have specific rules that govern their usage and sustainability.
Invisibility
Invisibility means that you are altering the colors on your body to blend in with the background. This effect works better in places where lighting is dim. No matter what, invisibility does not ignore damage you might take, though you can't be targeted by enemies unless they discover you using a spell. You cannot cast magic while invisible. A creature with a high-level ability to smell can sniff you out. This status has no time limit and ends the instant you move.
Shaded
A creature or character is covered in a dark and murky cloud of fog that roils around him, her, or it -- obscuring direct vision while in a darker area. The effect works poorly when moving quickly but grants near invisibility while skulking the shadows.
Stunned
A creature or character is mentally numbed for a single turn. The creature cannot move under it's own power, cast spells, fight, or defend itself.
